      Not what it's cracked up to be

      Lots of over time available

      Reliefs are not reliable. Poor pay. No clear instructions or support at the site. Managers don't answer their phone calls leaving you on your own. No consistent schedule with many changes at the last minute. No support when some makes an accusation. Had to work in my own car using my own gas to stay warm in the winter and comfortable in the summer. Clients lock us out of bathrooms. Had to use nearby busineses if they were open. No place to microwave food. Allow the clients to walk all over security officers. Often found posts left open for lack of officers as well as asleep.

      Hours when they feel you need it.

      Cons

      There's no respect, they throw experience officers in low paying sites only get 24 to 30hrs a week unless called to do extra work. Folks that aren't experience get 40 hours and better sites than experienced. No common concerns about where officers are working. Ask for a different site you might get told they don't have anything or the run around. Never worked for an organization that does whatever they want and treat the workers like crap.

      I have come to find that working with Securitas, it all depends on your supervisor, and I worked with the best supervisor there was. I learned so much in those two years I was with them. And it is definitely a people-friendly position, so if you don't like people, I would not suggest working with Securitas because when people in Albuquerque saw those three red dots, we were always approached kindly in which we would help out anyway we could. Definitely a wonderful experience.

      Cons

      The only downside I would say is that if the post was cut then you had to adjust to another post. So don't get to comfortable at any one post.
