Excellent Organization

Pros

I have been at Security Innovation a little over a year now and am very happy with the company so far. I work fully remote and everyone is always accommodating of different time zones and work schedules. The entire team is competent, polite, and fun to work with. Compensation is fair and is constantly being adjusted for cost of living increases. The organization rewards hard work with quicker promotions but also heavily emphasizes work-life balance. Processes are in place to ensure employees are never overworked and there is a lot of extra time set aside for professional development and research projects. All of this in addition to the unlimited PTO and large number of recognized holidays.

Cons

My only complaint is that SI is too lenient on engineers who are slacking off on projects. While this is rare as most of the team is very reliable, on the occasions this does happen it places a lot of strain on the engineers paired up with them on projects.

Pros

- The unbelievable amount of freedom that you get to do things however you see fit. It doesn't matter if no one agrees with you. You get to do what you want - obviously there is an upper (read: being stupid) limit but no one ever reaches there. - The management is super cool, super friendly and extremely tech focused, which means that better decisions get made - than if there were managers in charge who had no clue about technology. - No spoon feeding at all. At all. You're expected to do what you need to do to get the job done. Ask if you have a problem. But no one will walk up to you and show you how to do things. In short, the motto of SI is - Do what you want, do it how you want, do it when you want, don't be a jerk - just get it done.

Cons

Honestly, I can't think of any problems here. There's claims by people that they pay lower than outside, but honestly - it isn't all that bad. Sure, you could make more if you went out... *probably* - but its not like they're paying peanuts and tricking employees into working for them. Its very very reasonable.
