Kids are funny and mostly respectful.

Cons

Supervisors are manipulative and work against mission statement. They will lie to you during the interview, but you’ll work mandatory OT several times a week with no notice.

There is a lot of diversity with the type of work at Sedgwick County. There are many different departments that have different functions and provide different services. Makes it enjoyable to move about the County into different positions to learn something new. Lots of opportunity for promotion as well. Great place for a career.

Cons

Pay not as competitive, but benefits make up for it. Pay less than $100 a month for all benefits for me and my spouse. Pension retirement which is rare.
