Pros

- The technology is very, very exciting. We're doing something brand new with a ton of potential - On that note, you get to feel about what you're working on! Sense has the potential to make a really positive impact on the world and you'll get to work with people who are genuinely motivated by that possibility - Co-workers are experienced, but always very open and generous with explanations, brainstorming, and advice - Friendly, welcoming atmosphere - Experienced and ambitious leadership team - Respect for your autonomy and opinion, as well as room to research, grow, and experiment - In my experience, great work/life balance. People show up in the morning, work hard during the day, and then turn off at night and on weekends. Leadership both expects and models this - Super convenient location if you ride the T

Cons

- Could be either a pro or a con, but Sense's culture is fairly shy/introverted. This means that when you are doing your work, people will respect your space, but it also means you might have to make a bit of extra effort to get to know people. If you do, I think you'll find them delightful. It's also worth noting that this is something the company thinks about pretty intentionally - for instance, we started doing lunch lotteries where we pick random employees to go out to lunch - to try and make sure people get to know each other. - As other reviewers have said, Sense is still in early growth phases. They've got a lot the most important stuff nailed down (especially since the folks in leadership have already started, scaled, and sold another company), but you'll have to take ownership of your work here. I've found that to be a tremendous learning opportunity, but I understand that it's not for everybody.

Pros

Great mission oriented and driven Transparency from leadership so everyone is dialed into the direction Most people are wonderful and smart Space to contribute and collaborative environment, but painfully slow decision making for a company it’s size Great Healthcare and prescription plans and employer contribution for deductible Company equity typically included in offers

Cons

PTO and 401k (no match) could be better when in comes to industry standards. It’s fairly standard compared with *non* STEM industry Not much in the way of growth if you are * not* an engineer or in product development I found the compensation sub standard Top heavy for size, but everyone including leaders were all hands on deck

Pros

- It starts with the people. Everyone at Sense is well-intentioned, driving toward the same company goals and invested in its success. - Leadership is smart and compassionate. Sense did not lay anyone off because of COVID and worked hard to accommodate our personal needs while dealing with childcare issues. - The company is growing fast and maintaining culture as much as it can during COVID with weekly all-hands meetings, Zoom get togethers, and safe group outings. - Because its small we're empowered and accountable for our work.

Cons

No organization is perfect, but I don't have any cons to share.
