Pros

Sentara offers many career opportunities, yearly evaluations/increases/cost of living increases when applicable. They also have been successful in no lay offs even with today's economic challenges. Great benefits including tuition assistance, 403 k plan, and pension. My only regret is not joining the Sentara team earlier in my career.

Cons

There are many downsides working with Sentara as there is with any place of employment. They try to address them but not always successful for many reasons.

Pros

The benefits are good, they are reasonably flexible, work environment is decent and most of your team works well together.

Cons

Some co-workers tended to treat care partners like work horses, MANAGERS definetely favor certain employees, if you weren't in the "clique" good luck. The pay definetly wasn't always worth working as hard as you do.

Pros

Coworkers are great, everyone feels each others pain.

Cons

Low pay, terrible benefits. Benefit premiums increase annually and pay increases decrease. For a healthcare organization the lack of concern for health and work life balance is appalling. Sentara only cares about money. No room for growth.
