      Pros

      Some of the best reasons to work for Sentara are from the benefits they provide. including 401k match and tuition assistance.

      Cons

      Even though they do have great benefits, they pay their employees in entry level positions so very low, it almost makes the benefits not even worth it. Additionally, I have not have a manager that actually cared about their employees. Be careful, they might fool you in the beginning and then show a different side to them later on.

      Pros

      Good benefits, average pay, good opportunity, good work experience, and meaningful work. Get to see some cool things come in and meet interesting people, along with learning some cool stuff.

      Cons

      Not enough pay for being the main reference lab for a majority of medical centers and practices in the area, coworkers have made work difficult due to not wanting to work, and some staffing issues making more work to do.

      Seriously? I should wonder how a health care company can be devoid of human compassion, logic and rational.

      Cons

      I had 4 rounds of interviews with 12 technical folks. Got accepted. But, they offered me 7K lesser than my previous salary, which they were well aware of. I questioned and reasoned. After 3 more weeks of silence, they came back with 12K lesser offer! Reason? Leadership did not approve. Sick process to go through. Kelly at HR and Sethuraman the director of Architecture are your culprits.
