Pros
Overall experience with Sentara boils down to the hospital you end up working at. The job is easy, and to succeed you just need to have good communication, customer service, and problem skills combined with a strong attention to details.
Cons
The hardest part of the job are some of the other team members. You’re part of the front end of the revenue cycle so leadership pushes collecting copays and coinsurances heavily. Since Covid has slowed down, Sentara hasn’t given out that many bonuses or incentives. Not sure if it’s the process is the same at every hospital but you can quickly promote to level 2 and you become level 3 by completing the CHAA
