Thanks for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed many of the perks at Sentry, including our comprehensive benefits package and collaborative work environment. I acknowledge workflows can fluctuate. That’s why we offer a positive work/life balance so our employees can enjoy their time away, too. Jim Frank – Chief Claims and Information Technology Officer

Pros

Decent pay range, nearly no weekends, recent addition of tuition reimbursement and restructured PTO is good. Onsite Aspirus clinic is nice, cafeteria stipend for on site is appreciated. Hybrid work schedule is appreciated as well. Recent commitments to IT upgrades are a nice change. Comfy chairs, nice standing desks, and encouragement to personalize work space. Lots of CE opportunities. While I will not mention names, my direct manager makes me feel supported and never micromanaged. The managers under the new 3rd floor director are all very helpful and I cannot express how much their experience and guidance is appreciated.

Cons

Claims is not for everyone, it is stressful, taxing, and hair pulling at times. Salaried employees don't enjoy quite the amount of freedom with scheduling that is present in other companies. Lots of shuffling of desks as well, it can be frustrating. Smart casual dress code seems to apply to some people but not to others (no shorts allowed doesn't make sense). During company wide campaigns, sometimes it can feel like bullying or pressuring into participating.

I appreciate your feedback. You’ve mentioned many of the benefits we offer our employees enjoy that go beyond competitive pay. I’m pleased to see you have a good relationship with your manager. Take advantage of that relationship to discuss daily challenges and successes. Our culture of two-way feedback is how we continue to make Sentry a great place to work.
