Pros

At first things really seem positive, competitive pay, friendly staff.

Cons

First and foremost the workload is extremely unmanageable. What happens is it will eventually snowball out of control and then you're terminated. Instead of using your professional skills acquired from previous experience you are required to use programs that will decide liability for you and how much you should pay out on a claim. These programs have one purpose only and that is to accept less and less liability and pay out less no matter what your opinion is or what the risk is to the policy holder. Which inevitably puts you in a morally wrong disposition. Management seems to be friendly when speaking to you but behind doors laugh at your inability to keep up with the reckless amount of claims that you receive. While i was there i was not only a claim rep, they made me handle my own Arbitrations, Special Investigation files, Subrogation, amongst several other data entry tasks that makes it impossible to handle your new and existing claim work. Everyone there, excluding management seems to be depressed about their job, it is an extremely unhappy environment. Management also came up with the idea of assigning fatality losses to the inexperienced claim reps while assigning parking lot losses to the legal department. The thought process behind that is unfathomable and decisions like that are continually being made. I can go on forever about the undesirable working conditions there but i must move on. I am frankly surprised that this company is still in existence, the only explanation i have for that is the profit they make from premiums and exploiting their workers outweighs the Bad Faith claims that they lose on a continual basis. This company and its managers are a joke.

Pros

- Large multi-year legacy replacement projects underway for both Commercial Lines and Personal Lines systems - Potential for growth opportunities after 5-8 years (unless retirements occur earlier)

Cons

- Slow painful grind to move beyond your first promotion ( can be upwards of 8 years) unless you are lucky/skilled enough to ride some ones coat-tails. - Majority of management is young and will be with the company for a number of years until they can either Jove up or retirements open positions for them or they get sick of waiting and just leave - Most positions vacated by retirements are not restaffed - Upper management places a lot of stock in the community, meaning they know you don't have options elsewhere in central Wisconsin, so they don't think disgruntled/disillusioned folks are likely to leave - Career advancement appears to be on 5-8 year cycles and only and handful occur if you are lucky

Pros

*The pay is reasonably competitive *The amount of time off is very good, when compared to many other companies.

Cons

*The company is much more focused on programs designed to support reduced payouts than anything else. *The healthcare plan they have elected to use is essentially catastrophic, but still priced higher than most good HMO or PPO plans *Little care for employee welfare or work-life balance.
