Pros

The coworkers were wonderful, and the benefits were okay. They may offer a settlement in return for a release when you leave the company.

Cons

This company has been short staffed since they purchased Viking Insurance, years ago. Micromanagement is everywhere. How many phone calls are made out and answered are documented each day. There are reports on everything, and emails sent daily on how terrible a job everyone is doing. Most people work at least 50, if not 60 hours a week. It is impossible to get the job done in 40 hours. Supervisors are constantly in files requiring more work to be done. Turnover is rampant, with over 25% off people having leftover this year! Management has little sympathy and the claims just keep coming in. Human resources is unprofessional and is not to be trusted.

We’re sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with the workload and expectations. Sentry is actively recruiting for different Claim positions in many of our locations. In addition, we are utilizing available tools and resources to better understand and address improvement opportunities concerning staffing and expectations. Thanks again for your comments. Pros

Great company that cares about their employees. Good benefits. Potential for high income.

Cons

Selling a "cadillac" policy to niche markets. Very tough to put companies into Sentry's niche.
