Pros

At first things really seem positive, competitive pay, friendly staff.

Cons

First and foremost the workload is extremely unmanageable. What happens is it will eventually snowball out of control and then you're terminated. Instead of using your professional skills acquired from previous experience you are required to use programs that will decide liability for you and how much you should pay out on a claim. These programs have one purpose only and that is to accept less and less liability and pay out less no matter what your opinion is or what the risk is to the policy holder. Which inevitably puts you in a morally wrong disposition. Management seems to be friendly when speaking to you but behind doors laugh at your inability to keep up with the reckless amount of claims that you receive. While i was there i was not only a claim rep, they made me handle my own Arbitrations, Special Investigation files, Subrogation, amongst several other data entry tasks that makes it impossible to handle your new and existing claim work. Everyone there, excluding management seems to be depressed about their job, it is an extremely unhappy environment. Management also came up with the idea of assigning fatality losses to the inexperienced claim reps while assigning parking lot losses to the legal department. The thought process behind that is unfathomable and decisions like that are continually being made. I can go on forever about the undesirable working conditions there but i must move on. I am frankly surprised that this company is still in existence, the only explanation i have for that is the profit they make from premiums and exploiting their workers outweighs the Bad Faith claims that they lose on a continual basis. This company and its managers are a joke.

Pros

Salary was decent. Nice people to work with.

Cons

Top heavy in management who have too much say in very minute details in claims handling. Pet projects of upper management foisted upon adjusters who have tons of work to do. Even if these projects are unrealistic or cost the company money to implement, they will be done. Half of the productive work days are spent on these pet projects instead of handling actual claims. Tons of claims, calls, mail, phone calls. Unrealistic amount of work that they want handled perfectly and almost error free. Home office is in an isolated part of the country. You feel like a commodity instead of an employee. Upper management goes out of there way to treat you like a commodity. They have an imminence front.

Pros

Decent use of technology. Not required to sacrifice my first born in order to keep my job. Not much else positive to share.

Cons

Extremely negative corporate culture. Employees are treated as a commodity. Strategy has hurt the company, having gone through a wide range of folks who might be willing to live in arctic conditions (home office).
