Massive tech debt, lack of skilled engineers, lack mature processes, messy code base with 10 - 20% code coverage in unit tests.

I appreciate you taking the time to share this review. Our associates lay the foundation of success at our company, and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the work/life balance and culture within the team. I am proud of the work and innovation our Information Technology department has produced. This includes designing and building new unique business systems, cloud migration efforts, and has been awarded several patents. We couldn’t do this without the strong technical capabilities of our team.

- Wonderful work culture
- Emphasis on flexibility of the work schedule, while still focusing on being in the office
- Enjoyable group to work with
- Management that feels like they really care about the people
- You can rise up the ranks
- Benefits are solid, but the 401(k) specifically is AWESOME
Overall, it's a really solid and stable place to work with a lot of upside to gain valuable experience.
Cons
- Some changes around reacting to the current work market feel like they are lagging behind (having to compete with fully remote flexibility and salaries); Though in almost every case the direct manager will be OK with an associate working from home in a given circumstance
- It is an insurance company first, and a tech company second

- Strong company that is transparent about financials
- Good benefits, health, vision, dental, 401k matching
- A lot of interesting work is available, as long as you can get assigned to it
Cons
- Strict in-office only, "flexible" on Mon/Fri for now
- Micro-management heavy
- Used to pay competitively, but has fallen behind the times
- High turnover, more people leaving than joining
- Hostile co-workers and management

I appreciate your thoughtful comments and am glad to understand the aspects of your role you enjoy. Please know I hear your concerns as well. I encourage you to talk with your manager or an HR representative about any situations involving a hostile work environment—we don’t tolerate that here. As associates continue to come back to the office, we understand teams may need to go through some adjustments. We’re here to support you as you go through that transition. While we know there’s a place for remote work and intend to keep that as part of our hybrid model, we know in-person collaboration is important to our relationships with one another. I encourage you to continue sharing your feedback with us as we’re always looks for opportunities to improve.
