I think I had PTSD from working at Sephora

Pros

We do occasionally get gratis, but even that has gone down

Cons

The Merchandising team is hands-down the most toxic work environment I have ever been a part of. The amount of times myself, or my coworkers, sat in our cubicles and just cried is insane. There is no support, no work-life balance, and everybody is constantly backstabbing each other and willing to throw anybody under the bus to protect themselves or get a leg up. I have worked in the beauty industry my entire life and it was always my goal to work at Sephora. I'm so disappointed in what the company has become. Managers are constantly stealing ideas from junior employees. Nobody ever share credit or even gives opportunities to develop and grow. I had to leave Sephora because I was seriously concerned for my mental health. If you are reading this, please reconsidering employment at Sephora.

Terrible Place to Work

Pros

None that I can think of at the moment.

Cons

Old school, passive aggressive, micromanaging, managers. HR is not responsive to employee concerns. Employees and managers constantly talking about others behind their back. Most inefficient team I have ever worked with, who value working hard over working smart. They do not like procesa automation.

Pros

I love working for Sephora and what Sephora stands for. Going on a beauty journey with so many different clients is so rewarding. You learn so many great communication skills, selling skills, multitasking skills, and just great people skills. Not to mention you learn so much about the beauty industry!

Cons

It's retail, hours can be tough.
