Pros

I like working with Sequoia because I felt that it was a fun faced paced and younger atmosphere. They trust you to be responsible for you own work and complete tasks in a timely manner

Cons

The cons to this were many. I felt that there was an incredible lack of manager oversight and almost too much freedom for someone new and learning the process. The managers once promoted and making more money tend to check out and become careless, leaving most work for anyone underneath them.

Pros

Staff is easy going and is always available to help each other out with tasks.

Cons

Management is all about their bonuses and doesn't have the interest of their residents or staff in mind. They cut corners when it comes to technology, upkeep of their facilities, and improvements of the property. Managers are often found gossiping and create stories to get others written up or fired. It is not the work environment that I could see myself working in long term and that is why I moved on after a year. The pay is not there either, they are competitive for starting positions but it is really hard to move up in the company and pay for most positions only increases $0.25 per hour after your annual review. Management holds high expectations but does not follow up to make sure they are met.

Hi there! My name is Enrica Suson and I am the Director of Human Resources for Sequoia Equities. I appreciate you taking the time to provide Sequoia feedback on what we can do to make the experience better for our Team Members. One of the changes we made in 2015 was to move away from annual appraisals and move to across the board increases for all of our employees. In this way, we remove the issue of 1-5 scales and reviews that leave team members disheartened. Instead, we are focused on creating a feedback rich culture and making compensation more transparent. We hope this helps make it clearer for our team to understand how to make more money and grow with Sequoia. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Pros

Sequoia is large enough that there is room to grow or transfer to other properties or positions.

Cons

You really need to have a cheer leader mentality here. If you cannot put on a fake newscaster smile and schmooze with them, you're going to have a bad time. Not enough innovative thought
