Pros

You get to work from home which means you can essentially make your own hours (within the operating hours of the company)

Cons

You are expected to get a certain number of billable hours a day/week/month/quarter/year. If you take time off you have to make up the billable hours which can seem impossible at times.

Pros

Person Centered, flexible work environment. You get out what you put into the position. Great to work for a non-profit that impacts the lives of so many.

Cons

Fast paced, and requiring strength in change and adaptation. Services in Maryland are going through restructuring which is spurring this type of environment.

Pros

Mobile work/ability to work at home. Flexibility to balance work and home life...makes being a working mom easier. Mission driven at the deepest and highest levels. It may not be easy to see in all "end results," but the people with disabilities we support are always at the core of leadership's decision making. Have learned so much from my supervisor about compassionate, service oriented, and strategic leadership.

Cons

The organization moves slowly for things that could be quick, but sometimes jumps the gun on things that should be more carefully considered--need to find a middle ground. Working with the state system can be very frustrating.
