Great place to Start - Not a Lot of Growth Opportunities

Pros

Depending on what department you're in and how long you have been there, it can feel like a family at times. Their performance and review process is concise and very easy, and makes it fairly easy to receive raises at the end of the year. Most of the managers are great to work with and professional development is fairly easy to fulfill although there isn't a heavy focus on it.

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth. Once you're in a position, you're basically stuck unless you have a certain "appearance." They will promote an intern with the quickness, but forget about those who have been there much longer. At times it seems like they are more interested in recruiting new people than investing in current employees - especially when it comes to millennial's. I wish there was more emphasis on professional development. You basically have to be your own advocate and be proactive when it comes to that. Overall, there is a lack of "culture" except on days when we come together as one to do things in the community. No clear vision or strategy - changes like the wind. Often told to execute things, but not always given adequate time or resources to brainstorm and create new ideas

Pros

I've been at ServiceMaster for 3 1/2 years now and there are many things I love about working for this organization. A few to highlight are: -Extensive training available to employees. -Leadership is pretty transparent. -Opportunities for growth/advancement are always available. -Volunteer opportunities are always available. -Work/Life balance is respected.

Cons

-Organizational change occurs more often than not. This sometimes makes it difficult to remain consistent with business objectives and initiatives.
