Pros

ServiceMaster has a fantastic corporate philosophy of service and dedication. Their management training is thorough and invaluable.

Cons

Too many mid-level managers are wither grossly incompetent or outright thieves, embezzling from the company. I was appalled at the lack of oversight for upper management. Ultimately, I was forced out by a middle manager that I discovered stealing from the company. His directive to me was to join in his scheme or be terminated. I told him that I valued my freedom (and watching my kids grow up) too much to risk jail and I quit.

Pros

Down to earth executive leadership Engaged and accessible executive leadership Competitive compensation Company is nimble - good ideas can be put into practice quickly

Cons

Headquartered in Memphis, which is good or bad depending on your perspective. Memphis doesn't have as strong a local talent pool that would be found in a major metro area

Pros

A good company with solid foundation; feels like a start up in some areas (which can be a positive challenge for those willing to dig in). Great work/life balance; be sure to communicate efficiently with management. Stellar drive to give back to the community; several programs committed to this to every year. Sincere desire by the company to do right by the customer, community and the employee (no particular order!). The move into downtown Memphis reveals the ongoing interest in cultivating cutting edge technology, processes and people. Zero tolerance of discrimination.

Cons

Not a good place for anyone who isn't willing to give 100%. No company, or the people within the organization, is perfect ((note: every corp/person has its challenges but this company looks to meet them head on and does not hide from growth opportunities)).
