Not a place for longevity

Pros

Pretty transparent; the people there are very nice; still small so not a lot of layers of management; not overly demanding. Also, there is room where you can spread your wings take on large projects if you are motivated. Nice office location.

Cons

The technology is not very interesting (aging RoR monolith) and therefore don’t think they will be the next HubSpot. I have concerns about their scalability both from a technical perspective and an engineering organization. In addition, I think the company suffers from a lot of churn so the code suffers from lack of ownership and lots of half finished hacks. Finally, the company is dominated by B players.

Pros

Given a lot of responsibility from the very start, great to see your work make its way into the actual product and used by millions of end users. Coworker respect level is very high and supportive of one another.

Cons

Like any start-up environment there is a lot of work to be done. This is definitely not a place for someone to come and coast and be comfortable doing the minimum. Your work matters and your work will be honestly reviewed.

- One of the few growth stage companies in Pittsburgh (well funded, but still flexible and nimble where you can see your work contribute to larger company goals) - World class management and investor team - Work on big deals with big companies - Big ambitions, high growth goals, high expectations - Nice perks like snacks/drinks/coffee/lunches - You feel like you are part of something that is successful and at the cusp of huge breakthroughs

Cons

- high expectations to support rapid growth and many moving pieces is not for everyone
