Pros

The attorneys are generally nice, friendly and easy to work with, aside from a few glaring exceptions. Clients are generally cooperative, the office environment is congenial, and the pay is good for most positions.

Cons

Paralegals are given much too much flexibility, which is often taken advantage of (at the expense of subordinate support staff). Hours are unreasonable for support staff, who are expected to work late every day not because of a heavy workload but because most of the attorneys don't like to get up early. HR is completely incompetent and fails to enforce policies uniformly (e.g. allows certain staff members but NOT others to take unpaid days off, to work from home, etc.)

Pros

Treat all employees professionally. Always included in firm events, project group meetings, etc. Fair pay, fair time off.

Cons

Some of the partners/associates work very late and often do not get their work started until late in the day and then expect employees to stay late.

Pros

- Certain of the groups have been broken, but the Firm is working to employ new management in those groups, to great success. - Genuine attempt to assist associates with too great/too little workloads. - Very reasonable salaries. - Not all attorneys are outstanding (of course) but there are several stellar individuals amongst attorneys and staff.

Cons

- A focus on Labor & Employment litigation (on which the Firm was largely built) sometimes seems to be detrimental to other practice groups. - Secretive management culture at the very top regarding almost all decisions creates gossiping culture at lower ranks. - Low bonuses, but salaries made up for this for me.
