Pros

-Leverage latest legal technology tools & business consulting practices -Extremely organized national group that holds regular meeting for big picture goals -Great pay, benefits, and if you know for sure you want a career in immigration law it can provide solid experience -Free dunkin donuts every Friday!

Cons

-Prepare to have NO personal life. Those that hold mid to upper-level management roles have no lives outside of work, and they often project their insecurities onto their younger staff. These people are often divorced, single 40/50 yr olds, or terrible partners, husband/wives, and parents. There is this masochistic belief amongst the Immigration Department that you should stay glued to your computer screen in the office until 6, 7, 8 pm every night, regardless of your work load. They tout flexible work benefits and PTO, but then expect you to never leave. -This group loves to gossip, and talk behind each other's backs. -Though holiday parties/ceremonial events are frequent they are the most awkward displays of human interaction on the planet. The staff (many from senior management) often drinks heavily to quell their dislike of each other, and to mask the pain of having little life experiences outside of the office. -Though they have recently made the effort to bring in more non-vanilla people, the younger staff largely comes from two private NE colleges. Whether that feeds into a larger discussion of systemic, institutional racism, I will let you decide. -People are polite, but unfriendly and fake

Pros

The clients are interesting and they're great at L and E.

Cons

The salary is below peer firms and there's a complete lack of transparency. Summer program is a way to basically screen summer associates while paying them less and no-offering them without having that label.
