Pros

I have worked at very big and small companies in Silicon Valley, but I have never been at a place like Blade. The care that the company has for each employee is humbling; it really creates a space where everyone cares for the product and for each other. Having been at the company since it launched in the US, I have really seen all the lengths both HR and the leadership team has gone through to make everyone happy. I go to work every single day with a sense of excitement and joy.

Cons

We are growing very quickly and with that, there will be growing pains. It is difficult to keep all lines of communication open, especially with Paris, but this is to be expected at this stage.

Brilliant co-workers, great tech & benefits

Pros

-Co-workers are very bright and hard working, helpful -Good benefits for size of company (small)-- free medical, dental & vision plans, HSA/FSA, perks like catered lunch -Great technology -Fun environment -Room for growth

Cons

-Most knowledge still very tribal -Upper management still doing day-to-day so things can take longer due to hands-on nature of review of all things -No 401K packages (small company issue) -Communication between Paris & Mountain View

A lot of work, a lot of fun

Pros

You get a lot of opportunities to use all of your abilities and really grow within the company. Expect to be busy! For me it's a pro, I like having things to do and its something I've never had with previous jobs; everyday is different and I love it. We have a very tight knit team and its always amazing to feel acknowledged (especially by your manager/higher ups) for the work you do.

Cons

- As anyone can imagine, communicating to a team overseas can get messy at times, but they're actively working on fixing this and have been transparent about this issue. - Growing pains, as typical with ever startup.
