Pros

Amazing company to work for. Very easy going environment. A lot of concern for employees and overall a very dynamic environment.

Cons

Shell is a huge company, operating in more than 100 companies. So the things I am about to mention are not representative of Shell as a whole, rather, it would vary from location to location and team to team. I worked for the marketing finance team. There is a huge focus on networking, at times, it felt that there is more emphasis on networking with peers and leaders than the quality of your work itself. There is no succession planning, if there is any, then it is never discussed with the employees. There is a clear discrimination between permanent staff and contract staff, due to legal requirements or some other reason. There are a lot of people working as 3rd party employees, and they are altogether ignored when away days or other fun events are planned, which demoralizes their morale and also impacts the team's performance. Finally, there are fewer opportunities for promotions. a lot of times, you won't find the higher group job in your country.

Pros

Policies on safety (some are way too much though - Example: you are not allowed to drink a cup of coffee sitting at your workstation)

Cons

Service company leads/managers with no people management skills. They behave like school head masters, not even an iota of respect to lower level employees. These managers/leads jumped into this centre with the advantage of being earlier worked for Shell clients. Not a secure job. Hire and fire is the norm here. HR hiring to meet the target headcount with no intent. No promotion until completion of 4 years. And more importantly you have to either look out for a new role or leave after this 4 year period. You will be hired for one thing but in reality you will end up doing something else and in worst case night shifts. Extremely bad life-work balance No per diem for travel(if there is one) HR is awful. Professional ethics/responsibility doesn't exists in their dictionary Cafeteria food is pathetic to say the least. Bad CTC structure. No tax saving options.
