Pros

Relaxed atmosphere and central location in London is the only positive since the final salary pension was closed to new entrants and sports facilities at shell centre were greatly curtailed.

Cons

poorly managed old boys club. Rigid pay structure that forces employees to move on to increase their meagre salary means the there are few/ no subject matter experts in the areas that the company believes it excels in.

Pros

In my experience the people at Shell are it's greatest asset and make it a really enjoyable place to work. Benefits and compensation are competitive. Lots of opportunities to progress and experience different roles.

Cons

It's a very large and complex organisation, which at time can make doing your job frustrating due to internal approvals/processes.
