Pros

The best part of the position was being able to work with the patients. They were the major reason why I stayed.

Cons

A few mental health workers did the majority of the work. Others where talking or just hanging around. It is hard to get promoted.

High level of team work and engagement from co-workers & supervisors; working with clients is very rewarding; lots of autonomy/flexibility in job positions & duties; many opportunities for growth and promotion in the agency; benefits and paid time off are excellent; tuition assistance; qualifying student loan forgiveness

Cons

Hourly pay is low compared to how hard staff works (similar problem with any non-profit); there is not enough time in the day to complete all work required, despite good time management; clients' illnesses can be challenging
