      Pros

      There are wonderful clients who can be very challenging but can also make your work a joy. It is a great experience for anyone who wants to help others or break into the field.

      Cons

      There are sometimes issues with poor communication and there are few/seldom any chance for promotions or raises.

      Pros

      My co-workers are awesome, I always know I'm safe when they are around.

      Cons

      management sucks, the residents are aloud to do whatever they want, including spit, bite and throw urine, it's dangerous for staff and residents, no one has the staff's backs, etc...

      Pros

      There is a lot of support for staff. Dealing with the mentally ill can be challenging but the Director is very supportive. Most of the management staff is supportive.

      Cons

      Pay is not great but most social service jobs don't pay well. Dealing with individuals with mental illness can be tiresome but also very rewarding.
