Disorganized and Inhumane Company

Pros

Pay is okay, not top tier for what can be made for most F&A professionals.

Cons

Shield AI is one of the most dysfunctonal and inhumane companies I have ever worked out. While we are all in positions to do work, they treat people as if they purely numbers and can be discarded casually without any warning, at any time. The person that is in charge of HR is ruthless and does not care that he is messing with peoples lives when a casual decision is made to terminate people overnight. The CTO should be the CEO, and the CEO lies and paints an unrealistic picture for employees. The Company is not in great financial shape and basically operating on borrowed time and money to support the overinflated salaries of an incompetent and inexperienced C-Suite.

Where diversity goes to die

Pros

- A fulfilling mission you can be passionate about - Good financial trajectory - Many opportunities to make an impact

Cons

- NO DIVERSITY: women and POC? RUN, DON'T WALK. Recruitment is sus and all I see getting hired at the top are white men.. - NEPOTISM: People at the top are friends or family. 'Outsiders' are viewed with suspicion and actively undermined. As a matter of fact, these 'friends of the CEO' are woefully under qualified for the roles they're in, which is obvious if you have eyes and makes it so much worse. These same under qualified individuals are praised constantly... - EGO EGO EGO: Wanna hear about my degrees?? Brown-nosing is heavily rewarded, especially if you sacrifice every boundary you have. Speaking of which, - NO RESPECT FOR BOUNDARIES: If you need validation for working more hours than anyone ever in human history, you'll be right at home. Very culty and obviously unsustainable or supported by science. - CLOSED MINDSET: Again, new ideas are dismissed unless you have Rank or are somebody's favorite - POOR LEADERSHIP: Due to the echo chamber of nepotism, new ideas are dismissed if they can't contextualize... which is a lot of ideas because this company is immature and doesn't have good processes in place - AGGRESSIVE & HYPOCRITICAL CULTURE: People feel empowered to railroad teammates just to get their way in the name of 'meeting producing deadlines' but it's usually due to poor time management. If you push for accountability (you know, to avoid repetitive and unnecessary fire drills?), you are gaslit into a corner and slapped with the company's so-called values. It's insidious and if you index high on authenticity, you will lose your mind. Again, very unfriendly for women. - POOR PAY: Not competitive at all, especially for all the FREE overtime. It's robbery - REMOVAL OF PERKS: No more catered lunches and demanding return to the office anyway... good luck with that

Terrible Company, Terrible Management

Pros

Not much, pretty decent pay but not competitive for experience. Hopefully a company where equity will actually pay off, but seems like the leadership team is far from achieving that goal, if ever.

Cons

Terrible management. No leadership, only slave drivers who are given more responsibility and promotions for being hard lined with no empathy. Even if you have many years of experience and work your tail off from sun up to sun down, if your manager thinks they are better (this is always the case), you get run out of the company or given a bad review. Ivy League doesn’t equal good leadership. Male dominated culture where tons of women left the company and nothing was done by legal/hr/leadership.
