Cons

Pros

Shipt has really good perks including Target 401k, daily dinners, decent equity/ bonus grants, open bar, lots of snacks, and a nice office. People are generally friendly as well.

Cons

Shipt is a joke in its current state and as of earlier 2019. It was fun while it’s lasted. All the good talent has left the company earlier in the year — those that are here still are either looking for a job or can’t find a job because they’re not talented. Everyone is running around like headless chickens at this point. PMs are mostly new (not horrible, but inexperienced and without a leader), engineers are working with what they have but are also limited in skill and their tech stack. The good engineers have also left. Design team is a joke, or at least what’s left of it. Don’t understand how some of these designers are “seniors” or “directors”. It’s all a game of politics now, and kind of always has been.

Pros

Toxic leadership has been replaced with smart, courageous people who don't give in to nepotism or have a fear of hearing critical feedback. Lots of freedom, career growth and autonomy. People actually use their unlimited PTO. Typical start up perks like free food and office dogs.

Cons

Still a start up in many ways, lots of ambiguous situations arise, need to put more process in place. Weirdly resistant to bringing in Target ideas/policies, even when they would benefit Shipt. Salaries need to be more competitive, its not 2015 anymore. Need stronger HR, onboarding is pretty weak, I had to teach myself things like how to use the video conference system. There are still a few managers who think the recently "departed" CPO and CTO were great leader models... read the writing on the wall folks....
