Pros

Patients' length of stay is anywhere from 2-12 or more weeks. You really get to know your patients and families. You truly make a difference, and you are very much appreciated by the families you serve. Teamwork is on point also - nurses, PCTs, doctors, and therapists work together to achieve high levels of patient satisfaction and greater patient outcomes. I've worked at many hospitals, and the teamwork here is unparalleled. Nurses were all just given a 10% raise, so pay is extremely competitive.

Cons

You are ALWAYS short-staffed. Always. I understand that this is a problem at all hospitals, but having 8 patients to 1 nurse during a PM shift is absolutely unsafe.

Pros

My colleagues are supportive, misery loves company I guess. However, I advise my RN friends not to work here .

Cons

High expectations combined with. chronically understaffed departments especially for nursing, therapy and care management. We work through lunch and rarely take a break. Stay late , forced overtime, unplanned weekend assignments and typically. Very difficult to get time off one needs , in a word a rather exploitative work environment especially ,for those providing direct patient care.
