Management, management and management. Many lack diverse perspectives and sometimes engage in religious and/or gender-based discrimination. When tasks fail, developers are often the ones blamed as scapegoats, rarely those who formed the teams or set the working agreements. I’ve worked with both excellent and terrible managers but unfortunately the awful ones tend to last longer in this company. Once a manager marks you negatively in his or her head, don't expect a promotion in your career ever again and forget about the technical trainings or company-paid certificates.
