Pros

The salary is good and it is a reputable company, therefore will look good on your resume. The company has a global reach so you are privy to global opportunities.

Cons

There is a lot of politics between each department and each region. The upper management have a huge, huge sense of entitlement and look down of those below them. The structure is dictated from Germany and all regions have to comply with certain structure and process requirements - this leads to decisions being made that are not appropriate for the region. This also leads to people being shuffled into postions that they do not want.

Pros

Brand Name. The only factor to work for SIEMENS AG is to earn the brand name, and that what every one else is doing. The the employee turnover ratio is very high. There is no professional growth. Knowledge is neither transfered nor shared at any levels of organization. Salaries aren't that competitive either. So employee just earn the brand name and use it for next better career jump!

Cons

Sheer Nepotism by higher management.

Pros

Work flexibility, i.e. no one micro-managing you and the ability to work independently. Interesting products. The ability to work from a home office, a company car.

Cons

Pervasive culture of blame, everyone is out to cover their butt and blame someone else if something goes wrong. Which is odd because generally speaking things go fairly well. The incentive structure is set up the measure some departments productivity and to increase that metric it often sets one department against another. In other words we spend more time "in-fighting" then servicing our customers.
