      Good Company for Growing Families

      Pros

      A high value company that offers flexible schedules and good work life balance. The current slate of projects offer interesting technical challenges. The benefits are good for a small business. As a smaller company, all employees have a good chance to make meaningful contributions.

      Cons

      Company is big on OJT, but light on formal training. Federal budget woes are keenly felt by the company. Signalscape could be more willing to stretch into areas outside their core.

      Small engineering company with interesting work

      Pros

      Management is composed entirely of engineers. So they understand the technology. Work / life balance is excellent. Gossip is pretty low, and people pretty much just get along. President is completely transparent passing information, and very ethical in his business and how he treats people.

      Cons

      Being a small company has downsides. Benefits are good, not great. Revenue is ALWAYS an issue, and with even a small bump in the road, the whole company feels it. Project work can vary greatly at the whim of the customers, or their budgets.

      Pros

      The people. My co-workers at Signalscape are some of the brightest people with whom I've ever worked. They are caring people with a drive to improve themselves and they have a genuine caring for those around them.

      Cons

      Being a smaller company limits the opportunities for advancement. Doing Engineering services work can be frustrating when dealing with government customers with limited budgets, but it can also quite rewarding. The small size somewhat limits the health benefits that are offered, but all small companies are struggling in this area.
