      Pros

      Flexible hours in certain stores (Shopping centres are open later and normally every day of the week) Fair pay: National living wage for everyone, this is what attracted me to the job as I was only 17 at the time and I was being paid £7.50 when my wage in my previous job was national minimum wage (£3.80) Progression training is available, lots of opportunities to aim for management roles. Overtime hours are available and given to reliable staff, I am on a part time contract and do full-time hours due to overtime. £30 lovetoshop voucher every 6 months for uniform. Lots of training available surrounding all the products which gives you a lot more confident selling products.

      Cons

      Targets can be very high and it is hard to be motivated to sell as there is no commission only in flagship stores. Have had brilliant experiences with store managers. They’ve been firm but fair and very friendly people who want to see their staff and store do well. District managers can be very intimidating and rude when they visit. I have experience a district manager completely ignore myself and other sales associates as they are only there to speak to the store manager. Mystery shops are once a month and a “perfect 10” checklist is what it is marked on which you need to base the sale around. It can be daunting and I worried about it a lot, but once you have done it a few times it’s definitely very easy. This score will then represent the store for the month.
