Pros

Full time work with decent benefits. Decent environment. Good chance for promotions. Opportunities to take jewelry courses to learn more skills and be promoted.

Cons

I think Steling Corperation has a lot of good people but I worked in a shop that had ongoing issues that were being dealt with but not nearly enough. We had one person who was poisoning the atmosphere with his attitude. He did not seem to care about the quality of his work at all, and his various moods set the tone of the shop. If he was criticized for poor workmanship he would just make things worse and/or he would not speak. He would give new people the wrong answers to questions regarding work on purpose, then deny that he did it. If we got a jeweler who was good he would become petulant. He spoke back to the shop manager in ways that were wholly inappropriate and he ruined the working atmosphere in the shop. Management tried to deal with him but not enough so that it registered with him to make a difference. He wrecked the notion of teamwork. I liked and respected most of the people I worked with, but that one person really ruined it for me. Also, the store manager was a hot head who thinks he can take his frustrations out on anyone he wants in any manner he happens to feel like at whatever moment.

Pros

Easy to move up in the company if you perform. Since there is so many stores very easy to transfer when needed. With the right store you can make a lot money.

Cons

As a manager the minimum number of hours are 48 every week. During holidays you will work between 65 and 80 hours. Like most companies never enough payroll to cover. Which means the manager must be pickup the extra hours.
