Pros

Excellent opportunity for advancement. Some of the best benefits I've ever had at a job. Can be fun if you're working with a good crew of people. It's a pleasure to help people purchase items that will always have special meaning to them.

Cons

Retail hours are very demanding. You have to make the most of your time off and plan a month or two in advance for personal appointments. At times it gets a little bit boring if the store is not busy.

Cons

You don't make good commission unless the whole store does well. Lack of growth opportunities. Very political within some districts of the company. Hard to move laterally within different divisions of the company. Hard to move up without relocation. Easier to be promoted to management from outside the company.
