Pros

The remainder of engineering team is still quite strong.

Cons

Simon lost about 40% of engineers over the last 10 months. Combination of below market pay (series D did not materialize) and increasingly toxic engineering management. The management culture on the engineering team has gotten steadily worse over the last year. Encountered situations where managers claimed credits for projects they haven't contributed to and bad mouthed former employees on reference checks. Did not use to be like this.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We agree-- we have a very capable, growing, and strong engineering team. We are constantly reviewing market rates and, at key points of our promo/comp cycles throughout the year, we are and have adjusted compensation for those who qualify. We have not raised Series D yet, so this is false information.

Pros

Positions were remote, which was a perk at the time.

Cons

In another era the CEO would be selling used cars. Middle management was a bunch of bullies. HR treats you like you're in kindergarten. (This is not an exaggeration; "we listen actively and share thoughtfully" was an actual company directive.) Your coworkers come from an assortment of bootcamps and have exactly the level competence and professionalism one might expect from that. (Simple tasks like skipping blank lines when importing documents were beyond their ability.) Don't even start me on the types of clients they attracted.
