Pros

The office was centrally located.

Cons

I worked in the film division of the larger research institute, it’s a small operation. It could be credited to it being a newer company but there were high levels of disorganization, toxic work environment, unfriendly staff, and low levels of support as a new employee. The workload for the position was insane and included many things not advertised in the initial job posting (after I left, the position I held was divided into multiple positions, which told me everything I needed to know). It was clearly a start-up environment with a generally overwhelming lack of direction, vision, and organization that fell onto the plate of lower level employees. Barely any respect for diversity/inclusion beyond surface level platitudes and bragging rights at HR meetings which was uncomfortable on top of it being an all-white space. Salary did not match the work load or demand from lower level employees. Overall, typical toxic film industry environment with unrealistic expectations, little diversity, poor communication, and coldness/lack of internal camaraderie and communication among the staff.
