Pros

• You’ll either be worked to death or have absolutely nothing to do. There is very little middle ground. • Payroll is correct most of the time. • Every day feels exciting because priorities change constantly, often with little explanation. • Email response times are extremely relaxed — waiting a week for a reply is considered normal. • If you manage a vendor contract, you’ll gain extensive experience explaining why leadership hasn’t signed it yet while repeatedly asking the same senior approver for updates that may never come.

Cons

Dealbreaker: integrity. If transparency matters to you, this may not be the right place. During my time there, leadership publicly communicated stable or improving quarterly performance while, behind the scenes, senior executives were quietly let go shortly before quarter-end. At one point there was also a directive to delay paying invoices — including overdue ones — until the next quarter. I also had serious concerns about honesty at the senior leadership level, particularly involving a very visible operations executive who was later promoted into an even larger leadership role. Within the company this person had a reputation for being unresponsive, difficult to get clear answers from, and willing to say whatever was convenient in the moment. In my own experience I witnessed internal stakeholders being given explanations that simply didn’t line up with reality. Seeing that behavior ultimately rewarded with promotion was extremely discouraging and sent a clear message about what the organization values. Morale is extremely low. Many employees seem to be waiting for the next round of layoffs while trying to stay productive in the meantime. What were once strong brands now feel like they are slowly being managed into decline. The company runs an annual engagement survey, but the results are consistently poor and little seems to change. Over time the survey began to feel less like a genuine attempt to improve and more like a checkbox exercise. Communication is also painfully slow. If your work depends on timely responses from leadership, expect projects to stall. Waiting a week or more for basic decisions or replies is common.

Pros

They don’t layoff as much as other companies

Cons

Low salary, commission paid quarterly, upper management doesn’t have a clue of what they’re doing
