Pros

- Modern software stack: C++, go, python (tests) - Engineers write unit and integration tests. Solid infrastructure for build and test. Code review culture - SingleStore solves interesting and challenging problems in the space of distributed systems and cloud native design. - Great small-medium sized company and growing. - Everyone is working towards the same goal of building the best unified database. - The office in Raleigh is a fantastic location with parking across the street. Walking distance from restaurants, bars, and the morgan street food hall. Also near several other startup spaces like Raleigh Founded. - Contribute from anywhere policy. Supportive of full-time in office, remote, and hybrid work from home.

Cons

Growing quickly and will need to scale out administrative teams like IT to handle the load.

Pros

Nice people, nice pay, and a decent amount of communication from CEO. They think they're going to get an IPO.

Cons

People are leaving the company in droves. Especially in Marketing! Look at the employees on LinkedIn and you will see a huge decline in folks over the last few months. Don't take a job here, I worked 12+ hours a day because Marketing had me in meetings almost all day long and I had to find time to do real work. I knew it would be impossible to ever take a vacation (and with covid restrictions lifting, I wanted to take one!) Management not having any direction from the executives created a lot of changing priorities. This leaves you not knowing what priorities you should be working on. It made my head spin and gave me horrible anxiety. This company doesn't have a defined mission statement, business objectives, or goals. Goals are powerful—they need to set some to help employees focus attention on achieving desirable outcomes. They need to set business goals to provide the company direction and help provide motivation. It's business 101. Specific, measurable, achievable, and timely goals... without those, employees will suffer. Of course, unless you are a part of the good ol' boys club that other reviews have mentioned.

Pros

- okay pay - unlimited vacay

Cons

Don't let the high score of these reviews trick you. There's a reason all positive reviews here have zero detail in them. New hires are asked to write positive reviews to drown out the detailed negative reviews (sort by negative). Read those reviews for the real picture of working here.
