Pros

job is not hard, opportunity to make commission, $11 an hour without a degree plus commision is good for anyone without a degree

Cons

stressful! you will run out of cars and basically youre on your own to figure out how this family of 5 is going to fit in a hyundai accent when youre out of minivans. also commision percentages are horrible. no room for advancement

We are glad that you are satisfied with the company and pay structure. At Sixt we are very competitive with compensation overall based off of the market and cost of living in each city that we occupy. In regards to our commission percentages, our Employee Satisfaction Surveys show that many of our employees find our commission structure to be very lucrative. All of our Sixt branches are fast paced environments with high traffic since we are located in very populated downtown and airport locations. We encourage all of our employees to satisfy customers and upgrade whether it be to larger vehicle or adding on GPS, satellite radio, etc. Of course, within the rental car industry as a whole, there are times where we cannot provide a certain vehicle for a customer. In situations where we do not have a specific vehicle it is critical to use the sales tactics that are taught during the first week of basic training. Sixt takes every measure to prepare our employees for challenges that may arise. Finally, there is plenty of room for advancement at Sixt. You have the opportunity to move into supervisor, manager, or International Management Trainee role after proving yourself as a Rental Sales Agent, and this is just one example of a path to move up. We have opportunities for growth within all positions at Sixt. If you have any concerns that you would like to discuss please contact our VP of Human Resources, Gaddy Fernandez at 954-874-1793. All information shared will be completely confidential.

Great cars, bad upper management

Pros

Fast Paced and if you put in a lot of extra time you will learn a lot. Pretty good pay but other rental companies pay much better. The cars are awesome!

Cons

No job security whatsoever. Cheaters abound everywhere you look including upper management. Put pressure on you and never listen to your ideas because they "know it all". They try to compete with companies outside their range and then blame employees for the lack of profits. Some upper management don't even know what is going on at the branch level and just come in like hurricanes to overhaul. I'm with a different company now and they do things right. If you are employed here currently you are 100% disposable so watch your back! They sell you they promote from within but even if you are doing a killer job at your position they will poach from other companies and put them over you and even make you train them because they don't know what they're doing. Avoid this place at all cost unless you have no other options and then just use it to get by until you find a better job!

Thank you for taking the time to review our company on Glassdoor. In regards to compensation, Sixt remains very competitive, we offer employees in entry level positions, such as trainees, paid housing, company cars, PTO and much more once advancing to the branch manager level. At Sixt, we also pride ourselves on having management who has an open-door policy, where ideas are heard and often implemented. If you have a specific incident which occurred where you feel “cheated” we would ask that you reach out to our VP of HR at 954-874-1793 in order to resolve this. Furhermore, we have a fair process for internal promotions in place, which often occur all over the US. The career opportunities are endless at our growing company, and the managers we have in place have extensive training and are therefore in a position to make recommendations for improvements at the operational level.
