Pros

Coworkers are mostly great and direct manager is open for communication

Cons

After a phase of firing which made everyone nervous, now the next hit: extreme cut of the benefits offered. While a 401K isn't offered at all, the healthcare insurance just spiraled out of control. The cheapest plan means almost $2,000 yearly more out of our pockets compared to last year and it's not like it goes into a health savings or whatnot. Yes, healthcare got more expensive, but nothing justifies a 100%+ increase unless they want to push their part onto the employees. Everything of course sneaked in with no word from upper management and after you can buy from marketplace. Highly disappointing for a well known corporation like Sixt and it looks like the great coworkers will be gone soon, as pay raises don't compare

Thank you for reviewing Sixt. It’s great to hear that you enjoy your co-workers and appreciate the open door policy that our managers have. We appreciate your dedication over the years’ time that you have been with the company. We understand your concern regarding health insurance. Medical premiums have gone up across the country due to the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) minimum essential coverage mandate. Regrettably, this has placed us in this tough situation. It was not something we could have predicted well in advance. After comparing different plans across multiple carriers (United, Cigna, Florida Blue, etc) the plans we are offering are the cheapest and most comprehensive available for the company. Compared to other carriers, the rates we are offering are very low, even against those offered on The Marketplace. Before the ACA, premiums rose from year to year and Sixt was able to cushion that blow for employees by absorbing the annual increase in premiums. Since 2011, employees have only seen one increase in premiums in 2015 when the deduction for our bronze plan increased from $0 to $10 per pay check (bi-weekly). Unfortunately this year, in effort to offer the same type of plans and coverage that our employees have become accustomed to, and is now mandated, we had to share the burden of cost with our employees. This is not and has never been our intent. Next year, during open enrollment, we hope to be able to more heavily subsidize the employer sponsored healthcare offerings, once again lowering the deductions for employees. Please keep in mind, plans on “The Marketplace,” may at first appear to have a lower cost, however, those plans tend to have higher deductibles, higher out of pocket costs and a smaller network of coverage. Please remember that premium cost is not the only factor in what a person will pay for coverage. The plans we are offering are less expensive and provide better coverage than what an employee can find on their own. Our goal is to continue to provide the best coverage at the most affordable price for our employees. Sixt is moving forward and growing strong. We appreciate your patience while we encounter some growing pains, typical of a start-up organization. If you have additional questions, comments or concerns, you are welcome to contact our VP of Human Resources, Gaddy Fernandez at 954-874-1793.

Pros

Great co-workers, nice uniforms, good hourly pay for someone in college, can work as much overtime as you want. Great cars!

Cons

Customers are very rude and it is not fair to the employees when they run out of cars which is all the time. No matter how good you are at sales, it is hard to sell when you don't even have a car to offer as an upgrade. Their sales training is great and there is a lot of pressure to reach a certain incremental revenue. But no matter how much you complain about not having cars upper management does nothing to help you. Even if you are getting screamed at management is nowhere around and doesn't want to be bothered by helping out. The other employee is right that management tells the employees to write fake reviews because they get yelled at by upper management about bad ones.

We appreciate your feedback on our Seattle branch. It’s great to hear that you have had a positive experience with your co-workers, benefited from the pay, and enjoyed the uniforms and cars. We encourage all employees to provide reviews based off of their honest opinion, whether this is through Glassdoor or our quarterly Employee Satisfaction Survey. The Employee Satisfaction Survey even offers employees the opportunity to specifically rate their manager and provide feedback so that we can improve. We hope that you as well as our current employees have taken advantage of this. At Sixt we try our very best to satisfy our customers’ demands, however, depending on seasonality we may not have the specific vehicle that our customer ordered. Our Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and HQ forecast vehicles that we will need in advance to avoid these difficult situations for our customers and employees alike. We understand that this is an inconvenience for our Rental Sales Agents. Across the industry these are occurrences that unfortunately happen. As far as your concerns with management, we put our managers through an extensive training process that is unique to the trainee. Depending on their skill level and rate of advancement we will place them into a managerial role when we are confident that they are ready to tackle a location. Please be assured that there are no managers or agents without experience or proper training. Being a startup things changes frequently with Sixt. Changes within your branch are not necessarily directly from your manager but from HQ or Regionals for the sole purpose of improving our business! Again thank you for your input. We will certainly use this information to further investigate and improve.

Pros

Fun people, clear salary structure, and approachable management. Over all it feels good working here. We stand out as a brand and can offer customers great cars at good prices.

Cons

Sales Managers are hard pressed to increase sales and the expectations are unreasonable for nearly all locations. You feel judged at every step and don't look forward to your next sales performance review; which happen every month. The goal is to always be above your branches average; It doesn't take a genius to figure out that about half of the people will not make the cut. The management is a bit removed from the day-to-day activity and does not always understand what is going on. The people that wash/service/bring us the cars have no idea what cars we need and often take a very long time bringing what we need. This results in negative customer reports, which lowers our commission.

As your current employer, we thank you for taking the time to review us! We are excited to know that you have a positive outlook on the company and appreciate the friendly environment and approachable management team at your location. To address your concern, if you are struggling with sales goals we encourage you to reach out to your designated Regional Sales Performance Manager or Branch Manager. Our team has an open door policy and is there to help coach all employees and bring you into success on a monthly basis. Although meeting sales goals is important to us, the satisfaction of the customer should always come first. For each branch we have set forth a different commission structure and assigned goals based off of the market. Due to this, we feel that the goals set forth for each location are obtainable. If you have any additional concerns that you would like to discuss anonymously please reach out to Gaddy Fernandez, our VP of HR. You can reach her at 954-874-1793. We wish you continued success with Sixt!
