Pros

There are so many things that I have enjoyed about working at SkuVault! The culture is the best that I have ever experienced, and it starts from the CEO and goes down the line. This is the first company that I have worked for where the CEO and upper management will actually take the time to listen to their employees and value what they are saying. There has been many improvements made based off ideas or discussions brought up by me or my fellow coworkers. My department (IT) has improved a ton over the past 3 years and this is a testament to our director and his leadership. I have learned more from him and the teams I have worked with here than I have at any other company. Everyone truly cares about what we do and it shows. You begin to see the impact that you can have from day one and do not feel like just another number.

Cons

It is a small to medium sized company so there definitely are growing pains, but those have always been met head-on and helped us to improve. We are constantly changing and shifting directions as new market demands or outside situations affects things. However, this has been enjoyable for me as there is always plenty to work on and you never get bored. There is also quite of bit of technical debt that we are dealing with as we migrate our old application over to our new one. There aren't as many opportunities for growth as there may be in bigger companies, but that comes with the territory of an organization of this size. They are there occasionally depending on the department, but not as much as some would like. I do see this improving as the company continues to grow and I think it will really take off in the near future.

Pros

The people. Hands down the best group of people I've ever worked with. So much room for career growth. In this small company, you can take on new roles and opportunities that you likely wouldn't be offered in an enterprise-level company. You absolutely can make an impact on the company if you desire to do so. It's still young and finding its way as it grows. Management is willing to listen to solid ideas for improvement, even if they can't act on them right away. Leadership is quite transparent, approachable, and takes feedback seriously. The IT department director (Ed) is fair, honest, always willing to listen to feedback or problems, and genuinely cares about each member of the team as an employee but also as a person with a life outside of work as well. Work/life balance is good, especially for a company this size.

Cons

Still working out some kinks in structure, processes, etc. Can be frustrating at times. Little budget for company-sponsored professional development.

Pros

SkuVault has tons of potential as it enters the next phase from it's startup roots. The CEO is a terrific leader and a genuine guy. Having worked at times with every department, I found management to honest, reasonable and open to listening. I've had excellent opportunities for advancement and growth throughout my tenure at SkuVault, and all of my training and certification has been paid for by the company. While the nature of the work in an ever changing Agile environment (the dev department, at least) can be chaotic at times, SkuVault has been overall the best job experience I've had.

Cons

Dealing with old tech debt Chaotic nature of some of the work Growing pains as new processes are being implemented A small group of questionable hires early on in the company expansion (that are no longer with the company)
