Hourly pay plus tips Discounts on services for employees

Cons

Commission structure is the same no matter economic standing of location. (Same in a rich city, as in a poor town) Franchise owners are given too many liberties with changing the corporate structure laid out for them and are not required to know anything about the industry. Making it very hard on the stylists and management. Every location is different as far as rules, and dress codes, sales, and even how individual services are done. There is no consistency because of the liberties that Owners take.

If you have an existing clientele and can work very fast, you have a chance of making commissions, or you have to get enough chemical services with the cheapskate customers who come in, which isn't common.

Cons

Minimum wage plus tips or commission if you're lucky enough to make enough from services to do so.

Fast paced, high volume, no clientele needed.

Cons

No set schedule. Not enough pay for management especially during pandemic when sales are down and stores are short staffed. Mandatory 38 hours even with sudden loss of school/childcare. Only 1 extra dollar over stylist base pay and a ton more additional work and stress. You never leave work they constantly need you. No home/work balance.
