Pros

This was my first job years ago. Honestly, it taught me how to work hard... Definitely more cons than pros compared to a hostess job at a restaurant. Probably more geared for recent high school graduates.. After working a variety of fields, unless you're offered a management or senior level position, or front/back position with opportunity to grow, it's not worth it. Yummy food and I think the employee discount was 50% ? I lost 10 pounds when I stopped working here!

Cons

You're busting your butt off trying to manage the cashier register, making milkshakes, clean the milk shake stands, bust tables and wipe them down, running food, restocking the ice machine, restocking the tables napkins, restocking the fronts fridge, and taking take out orders over the phone, and on top of that checking the bathroom every 15 minutes on top of that lol. Usually if it's slow they cut front staff employees so if you don't have seniority that's something you'll struggle with. I don't know.. sometimes when it gets really crazy I've seen management help to bust tables and clean/wipe them off and going to the back to help kitchen cook. Never seen my manager at big name restaurants do stuff like that. You're not working off tips.. Close to minimum wage from what I remember. If customers offer you tips you're not allowed to take them. End of day when you're closing out, you have to sweep, mop the front, and also clean the bathrooms. I always hated closing. When it's slow, it's slow. But when they cut FOH, that's usually when it gets busy. You just never know. It's difficult managing the whole front with a line and full restaurant when theres only 2 employees working in the front (1 at end of night shift)! Cut of hours is probably why the turn over rate is so high..
