Pros

Amazing team atmosphere that values everyone’s input Great place for self directed problem solvers Wonderful collaborative clients to work with Supports new ideas from employees with SI Labs Selective about the work we take on Rewards people who jump right in Given the size of the agency, each person has the opportunity to make a big impact

Cons

None at the moment. I am very bullish about the direction of this agency. I mean who would not like to get paid a bit more, but the work we do is rewarding in its complexity and for the people that we work with that it all evens out.

Smashing Ideas: Go for it!

Pros

At Smashing Ideas you have the opportunity to work with world class artists and developers, it's really an inspiring place to work. The work space is amazing and they have lots of little activities and events to mix things up. Bagel Mondays, once quarterly company lunches, free snacks and sodas are awesome too. As for projects, they are diverse which is great if you tend to get bored easily. The goal is always to build the best product possible for the end user and teams remind one another of this whenever a decision has to be made. Be prepared to collaborate with the entire team, regardless of your job title - everyone helps to shape the product and everyone's input matters. If you are on a project you can expect that the final product is the result of a truly team effort and this goes a long way to foster accountability and ownership.

Cons

If you aren't much of a "joiner" you may not dig the environment. Smashing looks really hard at who will be a good culture fit. Just be yourself in your interview and let you personality come through, it's a huge part of getting your foot in the door. If you are uncomfortable with ambiguity or need a very specific job description, it may not be the place for you. If you are scrappy and like to think on your feet you'll do just fine.
