Lack of leadership

Pros

Base pay and bonuses are higher than average for Memphis. Total benefits package is above average

Cons

Lack of leadership and strategic goal setting Lack of career path and mentoring Employees expected to work long hours on a consistent basis My department had a mass exodus and I was left keeping everything running. The company watched me struggle without any support. I had no choice but to look for another job.

Pros

Good pay for Memphis (if you're coming from other parts of the country then it's ok) Really nice gym with great trainers Office is very modern but distracting.

Cons

Lazy employees Terrible management Definitely a good old boy connection (especially for Ole Miss graduates) Not from Memphis but i hear that school name come up a lot. Not a competitive environment, you're only as good as the gossip you bring. Antiquated IT systems make your job a nightmare if you're one of the few people trying to actually do your work. Had 2 lay-offs the last 2 years at the Memphis facility so morale is completely dead. No one is doing any work because they're worried about the next lay-off and no one really cares. No investment is skills improvement or growth. I am so glad I didn't recommend this company to any of my friends. They would hate me.

Pros

opportunity to help people begin new lives; exposure to very bright engineers and developers; contacts with suppliers that genuinely want to help the organization grow

Cons

lack of professional growth opportunities; cross-departmental fighting; lack of coordinated procurement, manufacturing and distribution strategy; devotion to personal advancement as opposed to company advancement and success
