Pros

- Learned so much about everything - IT/web, meeting planning, business, finance, project management - you name it I have done it! - Made friends for life - Great staff team, great client - Awesome direct supervisor - Meet great, smart, funny people - Love office location

Cons

As you can see I have been working and am still working for SB - for 12 years. It used to be a great, fun and rewarding company. The past couple of years have been almost unbearable. But because I work/travel so much and have young children I have not had time to commit to finding a new job. I barely have time to be a mom, much less find a job. If it was not for my staff team, client and boss I would have walked a long time ago. I also hate the fact that if there are a sting of bad reviews, then HR posts - Best Place Ever! - reviews. It is disingenuous and embarrassing. - Terrible pay - Not enough staff for the jobs that need to be done - ie - when I am on "vacation" I still am on calls and email - I have to because if I don't there will be 1 million emails and calls when I return. My staff is totally overworked, so I can't ask them to help. - They run you like a dog, working long, thankless hours - The ESOP profits -- because there's no skin off the company's nose when I'm billing out at 60-70 hrs a week and not compensated beyond my salary. - I have been here 14 years and received a $1,000 bonus. - The CEO is totally out of touch - I have seen him in the office just once since October and we are on the same floor. - Every Town Hall meeting we hear how great everything is and then get 2% raise - If you aren't in the boys club, you get nowhere - No work / life balance. - No career opportunities unless you take on more work and no more pay. Oh and nothing else gets taken off your plate.

Pros

The executives actually believe in and live by the highest ethical principles. High level discussions always include the well-bring of employees when making decisions that will impact their lives. Managerial bonuses were paid out only after 100% funding of staff-level bonuses. The company is 100% employee-owned, so decisions are made with long-term vision, and are not adversely influenced by short-term investors. The organization is extremely well-managed financially.

Cons

It's not an easy place to work, as employees are pushed hard to achieve strong results even when clients have limited resources. Personally, I find that to be more of a "pro" than a "con," but others may not share that feeling.
