Pros

Visionary leadership in MarCom Department, willing to change with the times and adapt to new technologies Excellent professional development program, if the employee is willing to take advantage of it Department management is willing to let employees build their career within the department around their own strengths - always open to suggestions Upward mobility, yearly raises, yearly bonuses, 401k match, open door policy

Cons

Clunky creative design department - far too much depends on the leader of the department, and she is an individual with her own agenda. If you don't fit in her agenda, watch out. Shady-seeming executive management that doesn't tell the whole story or keep promises Workload can get overwhelming in a hurry if not well planned Politics - people get promoted or stick around simply because they have been there for a long time, not necessarily because they excel at the job HR department is a joke Some PDL's are more active advocates than others, if you get a lazy one you may not get the bonuses or raises you feel you deserve

Good place for a first job

Pros

If you're talented, you can get from a very low level position to a relatively higher position fairly quickly (through lots of stressful work). After a certain point, however, growth will slow and you'll need to get the heck out.

Cons

Your job satisfaction will vary greatly based on what clients/teams you're assigned to. Work load will almost constantly be insane, and pay in general will be low (unless, I've been told, you leave and come back). For a large group of long-time employees, there is an attitude of just doing whatever is needed to get through the day. It's completely depressing. The CEO has the kind of "open door policy" that means that you can say hi to him in the halls - but if you want to speak any kind of uncomfortable truth to him, forget it.

Pros

Great clientèle to work for, overall the employees are educated and nice, diverse work environment

Cons

-disorganized teams -little room for growth -many of the employees are overworked and definitely underpaid -the teams are made up of people who contribute to other association teams so there is no visible cohesiveness
