Pros

Competitive benefits, strong focus on employee growth, on-site training provided through human resources, strong company values, average tenure of a relationship with a client is 16 years, and professional environment.

Cons

Company culture can be stuck in the past at times. Can be difficult to get to know people in other departments if you aren't on the same client. Otherwise I'm happy to be at SmithBucklin and can't imagine leaving anytime soon.

Pros

Excellent employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Deeply rooted, clearly conveyed culture. Competitive benefits. Steady upper management.Strong "client first" approach. Better opportunities for meaningful engagement between non-executive staff and upper management than at nearly all companies.Dedication to excellence. Tremendous support/responsiveness from IT and HR. The opportunity to leverage knowledge of those around you is big and, if the client's resources are big, so are the opportunities to leverage those resources.

Cons

SmithBucklin is the largest company in its space. That presents opportunities and challenges. Listed some of the pros above. The challenge is reducing variability in mid-managerial level staff. The vast majority are great, but you can get stuck with a challenge.
