Pros

Good people to work with. Friendly environment.

Cons

Interesting approach to work life balance. They provide a lot of outlets but employees also have a lot on their plates, so it's difficult to take advantage of those outlets.

Good place but understaffed, overworked, and demanding

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn and grow, working with cross-functional teams, you will never get bored as there is always something to do, nice office views, and hybrid environment.

Cons

Compensation is not great, micro-managers, overworked, basically expected to learn everything yourself (little to no guidance/support), there is so much work to do for each client everyday (possibility of having upwards of 5+ clients), honestly felt left to drown most of the time + some client leads can be very mean/harsh instead of providing criticism in a healthy and friendly way.

Thank you for your review about your experience at Smithbucklin. We take all reviews seriously, especially negative ones because it is not the work environment we want to perpetuate at Smithbucklin. We are committed to nurturing an atmosphere of teamwork and fostering an environment that recognizes individual, team, and company needs. To do this, we encourage any employee to engage in an open discussion with their reviewing supervisor, HR business partner, or a senior executive to identify solutions or changes.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We acknowledge and recognize that our service model may require employees to work over the weekend and/or on recognized holidays in direct support of client meetings or events, either in-person at a client site, or virtually from a Smithbucklin office or from home. In these circumstances, employees are eligible for compensatory time if they meet eligibility guidelines as listed in our employee handbook. We encourage any employee who feels a struggle with work/life balance to engage in an open discussion with their reviewing supervisor, HR business partner, or a senior executive to identify solutions or changes. From time to time we do make exceptions for remote work and work schedules based on conversations between employees and reviewing supervisors.
