Pros

-Actually earn 6 figures when you maximize your commission matrix. -Low management interaction. Expect a quarterly check in if you're on track. -There are people at this organization that truly care about you. -The product is second to none and easy to stand behind as a salesperson -Build some great relationships with customers -Travel to live events on Snap On's dime. -True freedom to set your own schedule within your day. -Lots of cool tool and demos for your customers. -The benefits are full ride. So good its gross. Overall Snap-On is a phenomenal place to work. It is a very large company with a lot of moving parts. Those with a keen sales ability will do best in this role. You will learn so much its not possible to put here. 60k is a great safety net salary and if you are exceptionally good you can make 100k. I stress exceptionally good. Expect an average of around 75k your first year.

Cons

-Grind. -Grind some more. -Collecting money. -Chasing customers and listening to very flimsy excuses. -Paperwork... a lot of this for no good reason. -Some people care but most don't, you may get a landmine manager/coworker and have a bad time but that is any corporate place. -The route may suck. -You will be in early and out late. -Lifting boxes and moving tool boxes. Tool boxes get up to 1500lbs. -Cleaning You better believe you will earn every penny of the 60k they pay you. However if you're here to coast on 60k you will be canned. The work is hard and the hours are long. Lots of paperwork and lots of cleaning and organizing. You will collect money and sell tools and collect money and sell tools. Did I mention you will be chasing customers and collecting money? Make sure to hit your targets or life gets hard REALLY fast. It is very easy to be drowned here.

Pros

I got to go home after an eight hour shift.

Cons

Working at the Snap On distribution centre in Calgary was not good. The managers are a couple of good old boys. The place is rife with harassment by workers and top mgmnt. They exploit the hard workers and bury them in pick orders while the high seniority workers get to work at a snail’s pace. Mgmnt likes to micromanage everyone all day long. If you work there you will be stressed out instantly. Starting pay is way lower than what most companies are paying for the same role in this industrial area. Don’t waste your time with this one.
